Will I need
a Consumer Credit Licence to offer Denplan Enhance? Yes. You are required by law to have
a Consumer Credit Licence to offer Denplan Enhance. If you do not already
have a licence, you will need to apply for one. Use the application forms
and guidance notes included in the Dentist Application Pack.
How much does a Consumer
Credit Licence cost?
Sole trader - £380 (includes consumer credit licensing fee of £230
and CCJ levy of £150).
Partnership, company or other organisation - £725 (includes consumer
credit licensing fee of £575 and CCJ levy of £150).
Who is the credit provider?
Denplan has joined up with Clydesdale Financial Services Ltd, who act as
the credit provider on behalf of Denplan Enhance.
Does it have to be the patient
receiving the treatment who takes out the loan?
No. The person who takes out the loan could be taking it to pay for someone
else’s treatment.
Is there a charge for this interest-free
credit facility?
There are no charges for your patients. Denplan Enhance is an interest-free
loan, making it a very attractive proposition for them. There is an administration
charge to dentists. This is a percentage of the loan value and is dependent
upon the term of the loan. The percentage differs between Denplan patients
and non-Denplan patients. Please refer to the current Denplan Enhance payment
terms within the Dentist Application Pack.
What paperwork is involved in the
credit application process?
There is just one simple form you need to complete for each loan application:
the Customer Information Form. This collects details of the person taking
out the loan for the application process including the credit check. The
patient must sign this form to give consent to you passing on this information.
Denplan will ask for this information when you call to complete the application.
Once accepted, you will be faxed copies of the Loan Agreement for the patient
to sign. One signed copy should be sent back to Denplan and, once processed,
you should receive your money within a week.
What does the credit check stage
involve?
When you telephone Denplan on 0800 169 5791 to apply for the loan, the credit
check will automatically be carried out as part of the loan application
process (on behalf of Clydesdale Financial Services Ltd). In the majority
of cases a decision will be given there and then.
How do my patients repay their
loans?
Clydesdale Financial Services Ltd will collect monthly repayment sums from
the patient by Direct Debit for the term of the loan. Loan correspondence
will be between Clydesdale Financial Services Ltd and the patient.

You will be sent a full range of literature for use in your practice and
a Denplan Consultant will provide training and support in offering Denplan
Enhance to your patients.
